Cellular Service

Cellular phones are available to Texas A&M University users if required for official university business. Contracts with Verizon, AT&T, Cingular, and Sprint provide discounted rates for all phones used by the university. Statewide and nationwide plans are available.

• Through these agreements, bills are provided directly to Telecommunications. Calls are then itemized and added to your departmental Centrex bill. Under this system, each department is responsible for purchasing their own cellular phones. • A department can provide a communication allowance to an employee, which pays a portion of the employee's personal cell phone bill. With personal accounts, billing is not handled through Telecommunications or the departmental Centrex bill. Discounted cellular rates are provided by vendors.
